So often, we are hard on ourselves. Our self-talk can range from negative to downright cruel. It is hard to be a source of joy and love to others when we treat ourselves like crap. So today, no matter what holiday you celebrate, I would like you to spread some Christmas cheer to yourself. Here are some easy ways how.

 

Treat yourself like a dear friend.

 

When you find your inner self being a  mean girl, stop and treat yourself like you would a dear friend. If your bestie came to you with this problem, how would you talk to them? What words would you use? What would be your tone? If you can do this for your friends, then you can do this for yourself.

 

Make peace with yourself.

 

You are a perfectly imperfect human. You are exactly who you should be right now. This doesn’t mean you don’t want to change or improve things in the future. It simply means that all the “mistakes” you have made are leading and molding you into the person you are supposed to be. So instead of beating yourself up, thank yourself for doing the best job possible in the situation that you are in, with the tools you have available to you.

 

If you can’t get to a peaceful place about you

 

Finally, if you can’t get to a peaceful place about yourself, that is totally ok. Just remember this quote.
